When that smile lingers

Where you can still see it in your mind

Feel it in your heart

If only I knew that we were running out of time

Those times that were once taken for granted

For fear of getting hurt

Now I wish nothing but to re-live them 

Again and again

So that you will walk away knowing that you were loved, dearly

The happiness, the struggles, the pain, the love

Those were the moments of perfection

That made our journey beautiful 

They would taunt me in my wake

Haunt me in my sleep

It is okay, dear love

If the world doesn't want us together

Because 

You will forever be my favourite.
